Emeriti
With our long and storied history, a number of physicians have spend their illustrious careers with our practice.
We recognize their many contributions to the field of ophthalmology and we thank each of them for their years of service. Their dedication, compassion and leadership helped to make The Retina Institute one of the premier retina practices in the country.
Paul A. Cibis, MD laid the groundwork for the practice that became The Retina Institute. Dr. Cibis came to St. Louis in the mid 1950’s where his guidance, mentoring and surgical skills established St. Louis as one of the major centers for vitreoretinal care. He passed away unexpectedly in 1965.
With great appreciation, we acknowledge the following physicians for their commitment to their patients and our practice.
Neva Arribas, MD
Isaac Boniuk, MD (deceased)
Dean B. Burgess, MD
Glen Johnston, MD
Daniel P. Joseph, MD, PhD
Edward Okun, MD (deceased)
