Proliferative Vitreoretinopathy (PVR)
PVR is a pathological condition where fixed retinal folds develop as a result of fibrous membranes pulling at the retina. This disease can occur as a by-product of a retinal detachment initially caused by a retinal tear.

Patients with PVR require surgery to repair the detachment; and while the retina can be reattached, the visual outcome often remains poor.
