Presumed Ocular Histoplasmosis Syndrome (POHS)
Presumed Ocular Histoplasmosis (POHS) is a pathological condition caused by the inhalation of a parasitic fungus.

With POHS, years after the infection, a central lesion forms at or near the macula. Small scattered scars develop and irregular pigment changes around the optic nerve occur. Hemorrhage and retinal swelling eventually occur resulting in visual distortion or loss.
