AMPPE - Acute Multifocal Placoid Pigment Epitheliopathy

AMPPE is a rare pathologic condition that affects the retina, choroid, and retinal pigment epithelium (RPE). The disease is characterized by multiple yellowish-white irregular-shaped opacities.

This inflammatory disorder most often occurs in young females. While the cause is unknown, AMPPE usually does not have a long-term negative effect on vision.
